Here is Kimber's 4" alloy frame stainless slide Pro Carry with night sights. Kimber signed a deal with CT laser grips, and will offer grey wraparounds with the Kimber logo for a complete light weight carry pkg. 28 oz. The 3" Ultra CDP is a looker.

Have you given any thought to a Sig P245? I have small hands and I love mine. I find it just about the perfect size for CCW.

Havi9ng just recently gone through the same type of decision myself, I would strongly urge you to handle (and shoot if possible) as many different models as you can before purchase. I went to the gun show thinking I was going to get a Kahr PM40, walked away with a XD40sc. It just felt better and I have not been disappointed. There are lots of really good guns available now and it pays to get familiar with as many as possible before buying. Unless you enjoy (and can afford) collecting.....

The NIB one I was looking at was $775, it had Novac night sights and "fit" really nice.

WELCOME! I had a similar problem as yours just a little while ago, especially concerning the ParaOrds. I had a P10 years ago and it was a real POS. But I decided to not hold the entire brand liable for what might have been a "lemon" of a gun. So somebody here told me to go post my questions on the 1911forum.com and so I hung out there for a few days and discovered that given the confluence of evidence and opinions, the ParaOrdnance is just NOT for me. So, I'm about to purchase a hi-cap H&K USP 45 with a 12 rd capacity. Otherwise I'm perfectly happy with the 6rd Sig P245. I love that gun. I used to have an officer's model 45 but I traded it for a shotgun. I had some minor problems with the gun, but it was an early edition and I think most of the kinks have been worked out. However both Kimber and Springfield Armory have some good designs that can compete! I myself will never own another 1911 design with a less than four inch barrel. I think that the design becomes inherently flawed when the barrel lengths shrink under 4."
