Thought I'd share pics of my new ruger sp 101 .357.
Plan on using for short/t-shirt summer carry.

Haven't shot it yet, snow just now melting, should be able to get out soon.

nice revolver, they shoot really well, not as much recoil as you might expect from a short barrel gun.
what does it have Newport, NH?...thought they were built here in AZ
What a shame they rollmark that obnoxious warning on the barrel!
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.
Looks like a pretty nice Ruger to me!! Wish I could get one!! Anyone want to buy one for me???
Was wondering that myself, I thought they were made in connecticut or somewhere else. Would love to know? I picked it up at the Kittery Trading Post in Kittery, Maine.
edit: Looked at ruger contacts information and they have manufacturing plants in Prescott, AZ and Newport, NH and have apparently done recent expansion in NH, so looks like it was made in NH.

I believe bottomfeeders are made in AZ and wheelguns in NH. I think corporate HQ is in CT.

what is this "snow" you speak of?
Its been 80 all week here....
If guns are outlawed, only outlaws would have guns.
Now I have to go out and buy one! Seriously, I recently was in the market for a revolver for my wife to have access to at home. She doesn't like the semi-autos and has trouble working the slides.
I originally wanted her to try the Taurus Model 627, .357, from their Tracker line. I couldn't find one any where. Was in Gander Mountain in Fredericksburg and they had a used Ruger GP 100 in the case. I had also considered the SP 101 and thought, "how different can they be?"
I bought her the GP 100 and she shot it very well out in the back yard. From about 7-8 yards she put nearly all of her first 12 into the paper plate I put up as a target. Now I see your SP 101 and how much smaller, and presumably lighter it is. All I can say is I was seduced by the price - $276 plus tax and a couple boxes of shells.
Nice pictures, thanks for the post.
