    Time for the summer gun

WELL summer is here .... time to change up. Put away the heavy SIG P6 and pick up ole reliable, My Taurus 450 which is a 2" .45 Long Colt revolver. Now normally I dont carry a reload, figuring 5 shots out of that monster and most BG's beat tracks. But now I am thinking about a SPEED STRIP. I have 2 speed loaders but I found them a little bulky, so I dont carry them. So, Does anyone know who makes a speed strip for a .45? I figure thinner would be less of a hassle.

I don't think that anyone makes one for any caliber than the 38/357. Looked a few years back when I toted a 3 inch 629. Ended up using a 6 round plastic cartridge case.

Couldn't find any speed strip on internet search but have you tried the type of leather goods that Simply Rugged offers. Specifically their Speed Loader Pouch scroll down its near the bottom of the page and splits the width of the loader front and back of belt, Haven't tried one yet but worth considering.

The Beretta 92 FS gets oiled and put away to allow for the CZ P01 during the warm weather ... which ain't here yet, or for quite a while, I think.

When it gets hot the glock 17 changes to the 26 no big deal.

I got one a week ago. It works very well. The shipping was very fast too. I use it for a speed strip but loose ammo will work too.

I carry a colt LW officers model year round here in FL. w/a ken Null UNS IWB rig and belt. I've also carried a 5" colt 1911 all steel in the summer in florida with nothing more than a polo shirt or tshirt and cargo shorts. Given a proper belt and holster just about anything is concealable under most circumstances. I do however feel the need to simply for go the thick leather gunbelt and iwb holster in the heat sometimes, thats when my colt cobra come out to play.

+1. Gotta admit, I never understood the whole summer/winter chango thang......

Of course, if it's just an excuse to have another gun, well then, it makes perfect sense!

Well, here is California there IS such a thing as a winter/summer change.

In winter you carry what you want. In summer you carry what you want at the beach.
