    PF-9 - Second Bust in 200-rds

After my hammer spring broke at 50-rds, now my takedown lever has broken off (yes it was in all the way). Looks like a MIM part or a bad casting. Weird spot as there really should be no load on it I would assume. I've shot about 30 Doubletap through it lately, maybe that did it. Gun still seems to function though, at least until the part rotates and scratches/jams my slide up good! I need to save the KT number on my speed dial list.

And no, the slide isn't dirty, scratched, or anything. The bluing really is that bad all over!

So sad to hear that. I have a PF-9 also. If Kel-tec would put $50.00 more craftsmanship into their guns, it would be money well spent!!

+1 on that. I had kicked around the notion of getting one of those for a car gun, but now I think will look somewhere else.

and what makes you think the Ruger LCP will be any better than the Kel-Tec P3AT? The name? The warranty...probably not that. The design...oh, pretty much the same there too.

    just curious.

that sucks dude, I am sorry to hear about your misfortune with your kel-tec. I have a pf-9 with around 200 rounds through it and haven't had a problem, hopefully it stays that way.

In all fairness I am sure Keltec will address this problem asap, but this is not going to help them to sell these otherwise fine pistols anytime soon.

Keltec does have a decent customer service dept., and they are not known for their fit and finish.

    Idiot, how ya gonna practice?

Call them up and refer them to your photo in this thread.
I would not send the firearm in if they can just send you the part for you to drop in.

While you're on the phone with them - ask them if that is a MIM part.

    Inquiring minds want to know.

My P3at has been nothing but great though more then 600 rounds with all sorts of loads. I do not think a second about trusting it or having my wife trust it.

I was thinking about the PF9 but after reading about people having issues and a friend at work who has had 2 breaks on his in under 100 rounds I am just going to save for another gun.

Yea, KT is good about mailing out parts, lots of practice! Still took them over two weeks and a couple phone calls to get my hammer spring mailed.
