My father in law picked up a 605 and it is a great shooter. I cant answer your question exclusively but I'm sure someone will.

bigbren: I have a 605 that is recent production last 3 or 4 years I believe. I have replaced the grips with Crimson Trace grips if you shoot me a PM with your address I'll send you my stock small grips to try.
