Because of it's positioning as a recoil guide rod, I'm wondering just how much shock affects the longevity of a Lasermax internal laser. Anybody have one with miles on it?

Perhaps things have changed, but Michael Conti wrote in his book "Police Pistolcraft" in 2006 that the battery cap came loose two times during his testing and caused a catastrophic failure. I.E. the weapon was disabled. His preference was for CT LaserGrips because if the laser failed, the weapon still worked.
I was very skeptical also until I bought a G-30 with one installed. Many hundreds of rounds later, no problems. I keep checking that battery cap, and it looks like the day I got it. The LaserGrips are awful on a Glock. Great on revo's and 1911's.
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.
I have had two LaserMax guide rods in two different Glock 17's. I am guesstimating one saw between three and four thousand rounds and the other saw approximately two thousand rounds. I never experienced a single issue with either one of them. If it makes a difference, I always used a Buffer Tech recoil buffer when I had a LaserMax installed.

Where self preservation is concerned, if you're not cheating, your not trying...
Their point of aim is far superior to the LaserGrips. Directly under and parallel with the barrel. I own both brands.

I have one on a G19 and I love it. I use it as a duty weapon and everyday carry and have never had a problem with it. I have had it installed for 5 years now.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm sold.
Had one on my 23 and never had a problem shooting it. The problem I had was the dam thing kept turning on in my holster killing the batteries. I sold it and have not looked back. I also gave some thought to having a laser and I prefer not to train with one in case the SHTF and it doesn't work.YMMV
