Laser Max for S&W J frames

Anyone have any experience with the Laser Max for the S&W J frames ?
How does it compare with the Crimson Tracer laser grip. I like that it rides up higher, so your hand won't block the beam. I'm thinking about adding one to my new S&W 642. I've got Crimson Trace grips on my SP 101 and they have been fine.

Just curious about the Laser Max.

    Thanks.

Looks like a Rube Goldberg invention. Awkward and ugly. The CT's not only fit and look great, they help tremendously with recoil.

I have a set on my 642 and love it. I bought it over the CT for the reason you gave.

I have not tried the Lasermax, however I do have a CT LG405 for my SW 442. IMO, if you have a proper grip, your hand won't block the laser. Bottom line, get what works best for you.

I got LaserMax grips for my poor, old, grey haired mom. She packs a 642. Her grip wouldn't activate the Crimsom Trace every time. Now my wife has the CT on her 642. Sigh...

The Lasermax beam is closer to the bore axis. That means that there is less differential of the impact point and the beam at the point blank and outer ranges. Plus the Lasermax can be found for as little as $100 on fleabay occasionally. I have both CT and LM and they are equals as far as quality and fit.The CT has a more sensitive switch and the LM takes a deliberate action to activate. LM offers pulse and steady beam as well as auto off.

I'm going to pickup my new S&W Model 60 Pro today.
Don't want to replace grips but considering a laser so the Lasermax seems to be best option for me too.
Just haven't seen much info on reviews from people who actually own and have used them.
What did you finally decide to go with?
