    Handled an LCP!!

I went to a local shop ,that's convieniently on my way home from work, and lo and behold they had a Ruger LCP just in with a price tag of $290.00. Considering the scalping going on at certain gun auction sites I was glad to see that this dealer was not taking advantage of the shortage.

I proceded to politely ask to see the firearm. My initial impressions are very good. Having fired the keltec P3AT I can see that the LCP is of a better quality and seems a little beefier. The fit and finnish of this particular specimen was superb. I liked the trigger and was interested to find, as I played around with it, that it has a reset and isnt' a true DAO. The slide stop was a welcome addition, and the feel in the hand was great.

All this to say when I'm ready to buy I'll be getting one of these for my pocket carry/wifey-to-carry.

290.00 isn't too high although higher than what the norm should be. IMO.
I think Ruger took and good thing, and made it great...but still would like to hear some long term range reports on it first.
+1 on the slide stop...that is a welcomed addition.

I agree. I would also like to see/hear a 1000rnd update when someone who has one hits that mark.

I handled one at a gunshow recently (priced at $389 ). It really reminded me of a P3AT, but felt "better quality"? I'll eventually get one, but I believe I'll wait until the price stabilizes............I can wait

Paid list on for a LCP, but the price has gone up. A few dealers are saying that they are paying ~$320 for them at the distributer.

I got one about 2 weeks ago, paid $299, Had a slight problem with the feeding of the last round, but after a call to Ruger, and a new barrel sent to me, and approx. 500 rounds later, no problems, so far very happy with it. Actually, thinking of buying another one for the wife, after she saw it, now she wants one

I'm also the owner of a new LCP I picked up for $299 + tax. I haven't had the time to put it threw it's paces yet, but when I do, I'll post the results. I'm also in the opinion thats it's of better quality than all the P3ATs I've seen and held.

I pre-ordered my LCP the Monday after they came out on the Ruger website. My LGS hadn't heard of one till I called. I got mine on March 10th. Now due to financial woes, I'm considering selling. (eat & roof over head vs. holding cool pistol). Any interest?

I couldn't believe how thin they were. A great hideout pistol if you want/need a .380 in the pocket.

Never considered a P3AT, but the more I hear about the little Ruger the more interested I'm getting. Think I'll wait for some more range reports and the price to fall a little. You guys that already have one, keep the reports coming.

I have been under the impression that it was a user activated slide lock, i.e. manually operated for cleaning, maintanence, etc. rather than a true slide lock that automatically locked the slide on an empty magazine????
