    My new Combat Magnum!

I have always wanted a Model 19 2.5" K-frame. So, at last weekend's St Paul gun show, I asked about a Model 19 4" and said, "To bad you don't have one in 2.5!" He said, "I don't and I do... I don't have a Model 19 but do have a Model 66!"

Did I mention that I love stainless steel! So, he gave me a good deal and it came home with me. I had to take some pics of the gun and the new holsters I made for it this week.

It is a 1980 vintage 66-1 and in great shape. I think this one is a definite carry gun.

Even my wife wants to shoot it!

Here is a couple of holster pics...

Beautiful gun. Is the 66 the one known as "the highway patrol model" or something like that? Anyway congrats on a super find.

Excellent weapon, love the pre-Klinton S&W’s, I have a model 19-5 2 that is a fantastic shooter. In reference the Highway Patrolman is the model 28, N frame, another great weapon.

I believe the model 66 was carried by the FBI when revolvers were in vogue

    Nice gun

Your gun is very similar to one I've had for a couple of years. They are very nice shooters, with enough weight to handle .357 ammo easily. It looks like yours has been polished a bit, as mine was by the original owner:

    Nice! I sure like mine, I have a pair of 4" 66's. I might need a 2 1/2" though.

That is a beautiful Smith. There is something about a stainless revolver that just makes me smile.
Another nice holster I might add....how does the whole package carry?
