    I personally like the thinness of a small auto, I would be looking for a LCP. To me a wheel gun is just to wide.

    If I could have one backup gun I'd go for the 38 ( 642 ). After you have the 38 , then I'd save for the smaller gun. My feeling is if all you have is the smaller gun ( 380 etc ) your going to carry it when you could be carrying the 38 instead.. I'm all for carrying the biggest caliber you can get away with.

    Try looking at the Glock 26... great size, even though I would not pocket carry, at least not in jeans.
