I buy what I believe is the best quality no matter what country it was built in, or manufactured. It doesn't matter if it is a car, gun, or piece of electronics; which in most of these cases is, unfortunately, not made in the USA.

It is something to think about, yes, for as long as it takes to realize that purchasing schlock results in more schlock available for purchase.

And I won't purchase from a group that hasn't clearly earned the reputation to get my business. Doesn't matter who's asleep at the wheel. The bad ones will die an economic death at some point, but it won't be via my money or efforts.

Now, that being said, I'm all for keeping dollars at home when earned, when appropriate. For example, I find the quality of service and attention to detail at my local (regional) Les Schwab tire center exceptional. They've earned my respect and my repeat business. So long as that holds, I will be a customer. Same thing with Timberline shoes, which makes a quality product at a fair price, and a dozen other vendors of goods and services I can think of. Uncertain of what national origin they are, 'cause that isn't exactly relevant to me. Quality is. If it happens to be home-grown, then so much the better.
