looks like a good new design. hopefully the changes make their way throughout their product lineup. it's especially good that they the increased the magazine capacity of their .40cal version.

I don't think they searched too hard for other .40S&W hi-caps. The STI Edge is 19+1... probably lots of others at least 16+1 too.

I'm just not a fan of the .40 as a round. I prefer either 9mm or .45. As far as looks and everything else they've done it makes complete sense. Just really wish it wasn't only being released in .40

New features include ... a true ambi mag release, and some other features.
"XD Classic" has an ambidextrous magazine release. This is not a new feature.

If it sells they will put out the whole line I'm sure. I'd love to get it in .45, although I am considering getting rid of my sub compact and service in favor of this one...

I kinda like it. Would like to see an original xD side by side with this one though.
On a side note....do they all come with tactical rails? if so then the following question is mute but if not, then does having a tac rail make it tougher to get holsters for them?

I thought the originals just had a reversible mag release?

I was just listing the things off the website.

I personally think it's ugly. I like the simple clean look.

The originals have ambi mag release...part of the reason I bought it as a southpaw.

I really like how it's a no-trigger pull disassembly procedure...might require selling the Glock 19 when those come out.

That makes 2 striker fired setups like this that I'm aware of - XD-M and SR9.

I like it, too. I'll wait until it's available in 9mm or .45, but I can see one of them in my future.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

interesting makeover. any changes in the innards at all? I don't really care how the thing looks as long as it eats what I feed it and puts rounds where I want it to go. aesthetically, the new look makes it appear futuristic or something like that. my humble opinion...
