Weekend getaway carry
So, here's a hypothetical scenario: You are going away to Location X, where your carry permit is valid, for a weekend. You will be traveling in your personal vehicle (or not) with your significant other (or not) and kids (or not). You may only take one carry gun, two reloads and one holster. Provided the only restrictions on the piece and holster you choose are those of size (must be concealable), what do you pack?

Given that scenario, I'd take my EDC. Why not ?!

My Kahr PM-9 works for pocket carry in jeans and shorts. Perfect for me.

Same thing I carry every day - Sig P226 in an MTAC.
I usually only carry one spare mag - if 36 rounds won't get it done, then another 18 probably won't help that much....

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

An XD with the high-cap mags.
If it was critical I wasn't outted, I'd wear a Smartcarry. Otherwise, I'd take a combination IWB/OWB holster and wear it whichever way was appropriate/comfortable for the occassion.

Well, in order of concealability I would say my...
Glock 27 (28 rounds of .40)
Smith M&P9c (37 rounds of 9mm)
Kimber Compact (20 rounds .45)
These are the most concealable I own COMBINED with the best reliability. With two reloads as you listed they provide a good supply of ammo in the event of emergency on the road.
Stepping up in known threat potential I would go...
Glock 19 (45 rounds +P 9mm)
I would have no problem carrying any of these actually.

Depends on the weather, just like at home.....
Winter
Layered clothes make it easy to conceal my Glock 30 in all settings. 2 G21 mags = Total 34 rounds. (I download my Glock mags by 1)
Spring/Fall
Lighter clothes, but still likely to be wearing a cover garment. My Kahr CW45 is perfect, 2 7 round mags plus 7 in the pistol = lucky 21 rounds.
Summer
Shorts and T-shirt time. Was carrying a S&W 638, but I'm switching to a Kahr PM9 this summer. 7 in the pistol, 2 7 round mags = another lucky 21 rounds.
Why the restriction to only one gun? When I go on vacation, I always take 2. A carry gun and a more fullsize gun for the car/hotel room. That way, if I leave the hotel room or car to grab something at a store, get some food, etc., my wife still has access to a pistola. (Usually a Ruger GP-100 or Rossi M971)
I always take a full box of ammo for each gun, too.
Slow is smooth.....smooth is fast.

Stay armed...with your EDC on vacation...stay safe!
