Hogue and Pachmyr both make grips that DO tame the recoil a good deal. I settled on the Pachmyr.
Also, that front sight, or one like it, can be had from a company called Gemini Customs. They call it their "wonder" sight. You can buy and install it yourself if you have a small enough punch to do the job and are confident or you can send it to them.

Wolff Springs I put in the 10 pound hammer spring and left the trigger spring stock.
I have a Hi-Viz front sight on my SP. Nice and bright! Got mine from Opticsplanet. One note of caution. The sight does not come with the hole for the roll pin. You have to drill that yourself.
