    Railed 1911?

Does anyone carry a railed 1911? What do you carry it in? It isn't that I see any point in carrying a railed vs. non-railed if one has the choice, but I do not have the option of buying another 1911 at this point. I have spoken with Comp-tac about the Minotaur and they claim they could not mold one to fit a railed 1911 because it wouldn't maintain proper retention, which makes absolutely no sense to me.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Based on Nate's reputation and what I just saw at his website I'd order from UBG Holsters. On his gun list it states, "Any size 1911 with or without rail."

lot's of companies make holsters for railed 1911's. I have a milt sparks vm2 and a alessi pch on order for my railed springfield champion operator. I'm sorry but I don't buy into the whole retention being in issue. I also carry a railed hk usp in a IWB holster (alessi pch) with no retention issues.

I carry a quite heavy 42oz railed 1911 in a Desbien IWB. Since we haven't managed to get Rhome stateside so he can start producing again, I would suggest a UBG.

I have a Tucker HF1 for my Kimber Desert Warrior (usually my primary home defense handgun). I don't carry it very often, but it works great when I do. Easily concealable OWB and comfortable.

Below: railed Desert Warrior on the right, Ultra CDP II on the left.

+1 for Tucker Gunleather. Incredible quality and a "no BS guarantee."

They'll make you any holster you want for a rail gun; leather, or kydex.

I'm sitting at my desk this moment wearing IWB a full size railed 1911 Sig GSR.
The holsters I use for it are a leather High Noon 'Mr. Softy' as well as a kydex BladeTech OWB type which was then (5 yrs ago) custom molded for me toward the GSR.
The High Noon holster is actually designed to support and 5" 1911 railed or not railed and it works great, for me.
Until seeing this thread I had forgotten that I was wearing it.
