    test data on 147 grain version...

    I just bought some of the 147 grain 9mm HST from Ammo to Go, and am waiting for it to arrive. Here is a link to a test of the 147 grain version by the LA Sheriff - it penetrates 13.5 inches in gelatin and expands to 0.77 inches in diameter:

    Love Federal HST. I buy 124 and 147 just in the case that one pistol doesn't like the meal of 124 I can feed it 147. I try to buy a few hundred every couple of months.

    Sig- If anything, 147 tends to not load in 9mm due to it sometimes having a slightly longer OAL. In HST, either should be fine.

    glfo- I run 124 HST's in my CZ, and it does just fine. Across the board, 124gr is accurate and reliable in CZ's. not sure about today's prices, but I got mine for under $30/100. $25 for 50 seems a bit steep.

    These days, $25 for 50 124 gr. HST is pretty good. It would be great for 147 gr. if you could find it. HST & Hydra-Shok tend to run great in any gun.

    Not sure sure where you got premium JHP ammo for $30/100 but I pay that or more for practice 9mm FMJ. In my experience most places are selling 20 round boxes of 9mm HST for $25 or more, so that price for the 50 round package is actually quite good. I think the best price I've seen recently for 9mm HST has been $35/50 which is still good for premium JHP IMO.

    My RAMI will run with 147+P;

    The 147s seem to run great but have much more recoil.

    I've yet to try any HST, but know that they are considered a top choice by
    many.

    Just saw a really detailed video review and gel test of these on youtube. The guy is trying to test as many different 9mm rounds as possible. So far every incarnation of the HST he tested has performed flawlessly.

    I suggest checking out his youtube channel... ShootingTheBull410
