Looking for a smaller 9, XD9SC, Glock 26?
I currently have an XD45 in Bi tone. Great gun so far, now that it is broken in. Kinda bulky to carry though.
However, looking for a smaller in carry gun (lowest I'll go is 9mm). Looking at the same XD, but in XD9 (SC?) and the Glock 26. I know there are others (Kahr, Sig). Basically looking for something that goes boom everytime trigger is pulled.
Don't really NEED it, but is nice shopping for a new one!
Anyone own either of these, or other's please chime in.

Personally, I prefer the Glock 26... excellent size, very accurate, and very reliable. I've owned mine for a few months now and have made this my primary summer carry weapon of choice.
Last year I shoot the XD 9sc and S&W M&P 9c on the same day. At the time I did not purchase either because I could not shoot the Glock 26 at the time... later I did and purchased the Glock shortly after that.
You should shoot them both for yourself and find out which one you like best.

Former: Taurus 92SS, SIG P220 TT, S&W 360, SIG P239-40, Ruger 22/45 MKII

I've got a XD9sc and love it! Very easy to carry and scary accurate! You really don't give up any accuracy going with the subcompact. With a little practice you will be shooting 4" or smaller groups at 25 yards. At SD combat distances, less than 7 yards, you should see 2" and smaller groups.
Haven't shot the Glock, but have heard good reports on it, too. Almost got the Glock when I got my XD. There was just something I liked better with the XD.
I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I like the XD better, but you can't go wrong with either. Both are boringly reliable.

I have three Glocks, but if you stayed with the XD platform then the manual of arms is the same. I nice cross-platform consideration.
That's why I have a G17 and 2 G26's.

Another vote here for the G26. I carry a G19 for a large part of the year. When the shorts and T shirts come out, so does the G26.

I actually just sold my xd9sc for a Glock 26 and I gotta say it was a great trade. I haven't shot the 26 yet but the Glock feels better in my hand than the XD and is noticably smaller when they are side by side.

How about a Para Carry 9, I think they're pretty slick.

You can't go wrong with either. Both are reliable and accurate. Just pick them both up and which ever one you like the feel of better.........BUY IT.
I have an XD SC .40 and love it, by the way. I like the Glocks, too.

Another possible option might be the HK P2000SK 9mm. It's about the size of a S&W snubbie revolver, give or take. Not quite the compactness of the Glock 26, but not a bad alternative.

I handled one of these a few weeks back. Amazing feel. Very nice size. The LDA trigger has a wonderful feel. Only trouble is the sharpness of the bottom of the back strap, for me, which digs hard into the heel of my hand. If I could get a gunsmith to confirm the ease of adding some sort of frame extension piece back there, to somewhat lengthen and curve that area, the Para PDA 9 with its ambidextrous controls and LDA trigger would be a very good choice.

Look at Kel-tec PF-9.
Not everyone's cup of tea, but mine is significantly smaller than a G-26, the recoil is fine despite being such a light gun and they are not expensive at all.
Downside is after about 100 rounds, the web of your hand will be sore and the finish isn't the best, mostly tool marks and the like. But for about $260 out the door, it is as accurate as I am and it goes bang every time...
Mine has been without a mishap in 350 rounds using Fiocchi FMJ, Corbon JHP, PMC FMJ and Magtech JHP, with a few Speer JHP thrown in to burn up some old ammo.

I carry a G-26, which is what I'd recommend.
If you want to stay with .45ACP and get a nice carry-size pistol, consider the Glock 36.
