I went to buy a EMP sometime ago and came out with a Kimber Ultra CDP II in .45acp. (there where out of EMPs).
I really enjoy the CDP and have carried a commander size .45 for sometime. I was a little unsure of the recoil but to be honest I can hit just as well with the CDP as any other pistol I owe. The size makes it easy to carry.
I still have an EMP on my list but everytime I got to buy one I talk myself out of it because they seem to have a 50/50 report on how well they perform.

I have the Springfield Micro in .45. They didn't have the EMP when I bought mine or else I may have gotten it. I have had some failures to feed using Winchester white box ammo, but they are rare (Maybe one misfeed in 20 rounds). The round would be trapped between the slide and the barrel. Easy to clear, it just dropped out when I turned it over and pulled the slide. I'd put it in another magazine and it would fire fine. I have tried magazines from Wilson Combat, Kimber, and Springfield and the Springfield works best. (I was surprised.) After about 100 rounds, the feed problems went away. I think part of the problem is the short barrel and the other part, the newness of the gun.

I've had my EMP for about 5 months, first time at the range I used FMJ and had zero malfunctions. I then switched to HP and couldn't get one round into the chamber clean (ftf city). I called SA and they said to put 400 to 500 round through it and if I still had a problem to send it in. Like magic after about 350 rds. the EMP started to function properly with HP's . I'm up to 500 rds. now and it running about 98% problem free, so I'm still working on break-in.

Man, I love the EMP. If I wasn't broke and in college I would have gotten it instead of my XD SC .40. Love the XD, but LOVE the EMP.
