Got made twice in 2 days so, NEW GUN!
Well I got made twice this week. The weather has turned hot and I made the switch from my jeans and t-shirt, to the shorts and t-shirt. Was wearing my xd 40sc with my crossbreed holster and beltman belt. Got made a few days ago in Pep Boys. Guy behind the counter asked me what I was carrying. That was a wake-up call for me. I figured I had just gotten lazy in my carry routine and let a bulge or butt slip out from under the t-shirt. So, I have been extra careful in my cover-ups. Today I went to the dreaded wally-world for kids bubble bath and baby shampoo(not that what I purchased matters). Anyway, I was walking to my car carrying my bag of purchases, and a state trooper pulls up next to me. He rolls down his window and asks me to come over. He says "Son, you do have a carry permit, right?" I respond "Yes sir." He then tells me to be safe, rolls up his window and drives away. This was at 7am or so. I go home, and stand on front of the mirror for a while, bug the wife, with the, can you see it now questions, etc.... Anyway, i decided that the xd is simply too fat for summer-time carry.
Proceeded to the gun store this morning to look at replacing my xd. Spent an hour or so looking and found a Colt New Agent. Very nice. They just got it in last night. I was originally looking at a Kimber, and I have been wanting to join the 1911 club for quite some time now. Originally I came across a stainless Ultra Carry and really liked it, but for some odd reason it was a 9mm ultra carry. The salesman said that Kimbers customer support leaves a lot to be desired. He then showed ma the New Agent. It was $50.00 less than the Ultra, but thats not a terrible difference.
Anyway, I put the New Agent on layaway. I like the trench sights, not an IDPA gun, but for sd, trench sights are planty effective with some practice. Nice and thin and best of all, it's a COLT!!!!!
Anyone out there have a New Agent? Will regular 1911 parts, holsters fit it? (hammers, grips, etc...)
p.s.... If anyone in NC is interested in an XD .40sc with a supertuck, let me know.
Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

That's both scary and good at the same time. In Florida that would be brandishing but it's good the trooper did not make a big deal out of it. He knew you were a good guy.

isn't brandishing an unsafe or reckless display of a firearm? not just printing or shadowing?
no such thing as "knock down power"......
only "knock down accuracy"!!

What would you be looking for, PM me if you want. I have family in NC (Asheboro area) and I might be able to get them to do the deed for me.

Ch 790.10 of the Florida statutes applies.......in order for a weapon to be "improperly exhibited" a person must, "in the presence of one or more persons, exhibit the weapon in a rude, careless, angry, or threatening manner, not in necesssary self-defense".
Thankfully, simple printing does not violate the statute.

I would just say that you ran into 2 people that are more observant than the average person,I live in a state and location where I wear shorts 11 months out of the year and I usually carry a 3.5" 1911 IWB ,but I have carried a SA xd 9 4" IWB and a Sigpro 2022 40 IWB without printing,I usually wear a loose heavy T-shirt

I guess my concealed carry instructor scared the bejesus out of me about printing.

That to me is even more scary. There are too many instructors out there that have no clue what the laws really say!
I carry my XD 45 service in shorts with a white t-shirt over it for cover and I have never been made (or wasnt told they saw it) but I dont worry about it as long as I am not at work.

I know it's hot here in NC. It's 91 degrees today (5/31). I've been carrying my Glock 19 with Crimson Trace grip in my MTac with an untucked T-shirt and haven't been called out yet. I don't think I'd get rid of my XD so quick, unless it's for a Glock!
Good luck with your new rig. Try to stay cool.

Might be cheaper to just buy some looser fitting shirts.
