TA, I'll give you another reason to fondle that beauty, could you lock the slide back and snap a pic of the feed ramp area? Also since that is a enhanced model Colt how is the barrel to slide fit, and lock up? How does that speed bump style grip saftey feel in the hand?

Thumbs up You guys caught me sleeping

Yep, there the sonovagun is right inside the doggone recoil spring.
Right in there where it should be sitting.
Consider me as having had my tushy whupped.
OK...now I'm going out and buying a bunch of FLGRs.
Did I put my foot in my mouth?

Beautiful Colt you've got there TA, nice grouping too. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go clean this drool off'n my keyboard. Ya' know, I've got a Commander length Milt Sparks Watch Six sitting in my closet being neglected, maybe I should think about a new Commander for it at some point. Hmmm .....

Not too many things sadder than an empty, neglected Milt Sparks holster...

Lock-up is very positive, slide to frame fit is not too tight, and the "speed bump" feels good....don't even notice it while gripping the frame.

Your right, I would defently polish that ramp, and blend it into the barrel throat (get rid of that lip between the 2), my springer looked much worse than that when I got it.

Man those guns are hot aren't they? I am still waiting for mine to come in

    Important

Do not blend the frame ramp into the barrel ramp.
They usually don't do that modification anymore.
Keep that space/gap there & just lightly polish the frame feed ramp.
We seem to have a difference of opinion.
    Maybe a new thread topic???

Lordy, do not remove the ledge between the barrel and frame, it was designed that way for a reason.

My Springer Mil-spec came with no lip in there and was totaly polished. when I got my Springer GI it was rough and had the lip, so I blended it, I was under the assumption that since my mil-spec came like that, I should do that to the GI also. Both seem to feed anything and work 100% of the time, ahh well you learn something new everyday (thats why were here I guess)

That is interesting Bruce, I've never seen one work reliably without it. You do you learn something new everyday.

I have a little over 3,000 rounds through my Mil-spec and never a problem till a FTRTB, I installed a wolf 16lb spring and never a problem since. The GI had about 850 through it, then I sold it to get the rest of the funds for the XSE. Teh only ammo I ever had problems with were some JRN reloads that my friend had from somewhere.
