A "Happy Fathers Day" from my wife, a Glock 20!

Just like the title says, my wife bought me a Glock 20 for an early Fathers Day gift. I had told her I wanted a 10mm, we had looked at a G29 as well as a Kimber in 10mm, & she found this G20 used at a local gun shop. She said she figured she'd better buy me one before the "new President restricts mags down to 2 rounds & bullets down to .22". It does not have the rail, so must be a few years old. Now I need to find the best concealed option for it, but thats a question for a different catergory in this forum. Haven't even got to shoot it yet! I'd like to get a laser for it, a guide rod type. No pictures but just imagine an all buisness black pistol that looks just like a Glock. Well, just wanted to share.

Congrats, John. The most formidable of all Glocks, in terms of caliber, barrel length and capacity. A fine acquisition.

How are you set for magazines? Given your stated unease over what the future holds in terms of firearms legislation, I assume you'll be picking up plenty of the 15-rounders, if you don't have them already.

16 rounds of 10mm coming out of a 4 1/2" barrel (you can also drop in the 6" barrel that Glock offers if you want even more punch) is a lot of artillery to pack into a handgun, the G20's large size notwithstanding. It should be plenty to get you through the night.

    congrats on the new aquisition
I would jump all over a mag stockpile
    check out:
    Glock 20/20SF 10mm 15rd Mag New Factory
    $19.99

as for concealing, choice of method will depend on your size, body shape, etc
then what holster you can use

Thanks. I definitly would like to buy some extra mags, I have two 15 rounders now. Thanks 64zebra for the link, those are $7 cheaper than local. I'm 6' & about 210lbs, just sticking it in my waistband near the middle of my back it hides well under a biggish T shirt as long as I don't bend forward too much. Invisable under an overshirt like a flannel or Hickory.

Hope everyone is up for a barage of questions in the coming weeks as I'm new to concealed carry.

I would highly recommend getting a holster for the Glock 20 for several reasons:
-need to make sure the trigger guard is covered
-just sticking it in your waistband provides the opportunity for it to fall out at the most inconvenient moment!
-will allow you to conceal even better than how you're doing it now

picking a holster is just as important and just as frustrating as picking a carry weapon
I can recommend a Predator SO-2 IWB tuckable holster, I have one for my HK full size 45 and my Glock 30. They both allow me to carry IWB with just a t-shirt as cover and its easier to keep concealed even when bending forward. They also have a lifetime warranty
    here's a link for them: Predator SO-2

and know that I'm not saying this holster is the only one out there for you, there are lots of others, all I can say is that this holster fits the hip well, the forward cant aides in concealment, tension adjustable, lifetime warranty, allows you to get a full grip when drawing
