What do our left handed members carry?

I have a good friend that happens to be left handed. He is looking for his first concealable weapon. I would like to know what is preferred by the left handed members here.

I usually carry left-handed. I use Glocks (21 and 27), so my only right-hand control issue is the magazine release. For a quick reload, I press the release with my left index finger tip, then re-establish a shooting grip.

There are'nt many left handed pistols out there.

There are right handed pistols used with left handed holsters.
He'll have to get used to that fact and learn to manipulate with his left hand. Since it usually takes two hands to rack and reload anyway, its not a big deal to learn.

I use Sigs and Government Models left handed with no problems.

My instructor is left-handed. He carries a M&P9.

My Ruger SR9 has ambidextrous controls, except for the slide release. I believe a lot of the HK pistols have controls that can be reversed for left-handers, and some have ambidextrous slide releases.

There are some guns with ambidextrous features. The one that almost never is, is the slide release. Thats the one you've gotta learn to deal with.

RIA 1911 45 with ambidextrous safety,as far as slide release I either use trigger finger or slingshot method,I always shot right hand until spinal cord injury caused partial paralysis in right hand and I had to retrain to shoot left handed

Bersa Thunder 9 UC and Thunder 45 UC are both fully ambidextrous (safety and slide release) and magazine button is easily reversible. They also happen to be really nice pistols and are relatively inexpensive. This is one lefty who is a strong Bersa fan.

My Ruger KP95 is a great lefty friendly gun. The slide release is a long bar instead of a short button. Very easy to use with your trigger finger.
