PM9 replacing P3AT
I just ordered a PM9 and was planning on replacing the P3AT with it. The size difference concerns me for pocket carry. For you gentlemen that have had both do you see this as a big issue?
The Keltec never gave me the warm fuzzy that my USPc 40 gives me when being carried. Perhaps its the initial reliability issues, KelTecs reputation, or the weaker round... maybe its a combination of the 3...!?!
By the way, I'm getting the all black PM9 with the night sights.
Cheers.

I have a Kahr PM9 and it's a little bulky for pocket carry, so I ordered a Ruger LCP. I do have a UGB holster (IWB style) that I carry my Kahr in, and that works great for jeans. It's not a bad gun for pocket carry, but you'll notice a difference from your Kel Tec! Just a note: The PM9 isn't "bad" for pocket carry, just a little thicker. You might like it just fine.

Think first, act appropriately...

sounds like a nice upgrade. Almost got one instead of the LCP but chose not to. Was too thick for me to pocket. I plan to pick one up eventually unless I get the R9. Only problem with it is the mag release is just goofy.

I pocket carry my PM9 in a desantis nemesis most everyday! It is just a little on the thick side but it conceals pretty well in my eyes.

It is what it is, if you want the larger round, you're going to have to give up some of the size on the P3AT. I had a Kahr PM40, and while I wouldn't carry it in a front pocket, I did carry it in a back pocket using the above mentioned DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster, but I spent to much time driving and it became too uncomfortable for me so the Kahr went away.
All for all, if your having reservations about the KelTec, I think changing guns is the right idea, you need to be confident in your gun.
As you listed the caliber as one concern, I don't think another .380 is what you need.
If it's any consolation, you can move the PM9 and get an LCP pretty easy if you change your mind.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I too have experimented with various .380s and also like you I am going with a 9mm for pocket carry.
I have a Glock 26 that I really like, but it is too big for my pockets. I am now considering either a Kahr PM9 or a Keltec PF9, but have some reservations about the quality of the Keltec.
Nothing against the .380, I just feel better with the 9mm and I like having carry weapons in the same caliber because the cost of ammo will be a little cheaper.

At some point in the future I will be considering a Kahr PM9 for pocket carry. The whole point about having the same ammunition is nice, but can it handle +p loads?

I switched from a P3AT to a PM9 for many of the already stated reasons.
-Quality
-Durability
-Caliber size
-Sights
It is larger, but works in my pockets. My daily wear are khaki pants which have fairly deep pockets. I'd make sure to get a good pocket holster since to me Kahr's triggers are pretty light and aren't nearly as long as Kel-tec's.

Absolutely yes. I would not want to feed it a steady diet of +Ps, but the little Kahr will handle them - no problem!

I routinely carry the PM9 in a Nemesis Pocket Holster. I carry a spare magazine in a K&D pocket mag carrier in the other pocket.

I just bought both a PM9 and an LCP. The LCP looks to be the same size as the soon to be released P380, for $279 I might add. Both are great little guns.

Have had both.
The PM9 is, indeed, quite a bit larger than the P3AT. Depends on your clothing and body shape. Holster will affect it somewhat. If you can get a holster that fills in the pocket's shape, that'll help. It's quite a bit longer, and much fatter. IMO, without the right clothing and holster, it'll be tough to carry well in the pocket, without printing. With the right stuff, it'll be simple.

The PM9 may be bigger, but I think it is a much better gun in all aspects....I too want the 380 when it comes out....kind of like a little brother to my PM9.

I primarily pocket carry a PM9 during the winter. I have no problems w/ cargo pants or khakis in either a Nemesis or HBE pocket holster. I even get away with it in loose jeans. I also have a P-3AT, but I just seem to feel a little more comfortable with the Kahr.
