    XD vs P226

I am considering getting a Sig 226 Elite in .40 cal. My current carry, or at least the one I am preparing to carry with, is the XD40 Service. I am wondering if the Elite with the beaver tail is harder to conceal than the XD. For that matter, is the regular P226 harder to conceal than the XD. I am looking for some info from people who have actually handled these different guns. I have looked up dimensions, etc., online but they don't give a great deal of detail about where they are taking their measurements.

I know for a fact the XD40 is easy to conceal, I've carried mine in gym pants and and t-shirt without much printing.

The only area the XD wins IMO, is weight.

that's what i was thinking and even then, it isn't by much, maybe 4 oz if i remember correctly.

was wondering who is fatter though

i've been doing some searching here and i have found quite a few who conceal it or the 229, which should be similar in width.

Concealing either pistol will be about the same. Don't make that your reason for picking one over the other. Both of these are fine tools for your self protection. Pick the one that feels right when you are holding and aiming it. Once that is done than select a method of carry that will allow you to carry in comfort and remain concealed.
