Picked up my new gun today. An Ed Brown Kobra, stainless.
A few weeks back I bought the Springfield EMP. I thought I shot pretty well with this, but the Kobra dismissed that notion.
Took to the range last night to begin the breaking in process, and shot about 100, American Eagle, 230 FMJ, some HST and Double Tap SD rounds to check. Not a problem at all, of any sort.
Let me just say this gun shoots like a dream, and gives me more faith in my shooting ability! 25 feet, with a 2" black bullseye. Group of 5. Shoot wondering where they go (homemade printer targets) as if you miss bullseye, can see hole on white paper. When retrieving, no X as all 5 shots touching. Over and over consistency each and every time. I can't do this with either the EMP or my XD45.
ONLY downside is that I only received 1 magazine. At the price for this gun, thinking should have got at least 3 but can't have it all.
What are the best brand magazines, and the best source for those as well?
:congrats:Congrats on your new gun, but
I prefer Tripp Research Cobra mags or Wilson 47D magazines.
I usually pick up all the Cobra mags I can find from the 1911 forums, the Wilson mags I use to pick up on eBay, but they no longer allow the sale of mags there.
The only place I know to get new Tripp mags is from Tripp Research
When it comes to the Wilson mags, I'm pretty sure most places have them for about the same price or less than Wilson's website, but to be honest I haven't really looked recently.
You may want to try.

Suppose I could. Just consider mags an aftemarket type thing (like tires) and did not know how the Ed Brown mags compared to others that my be better performing.

I think it's always a good idea to try CMC mags, as they are cheap and well made. If your gun likes them, they're great.
WHERE ARE THE PICS????
