I coated a gun with some KG coating from midway usa it's suppose to withstand 72 hours in saltwater and abrasion resistant,It comes in lots of different colors and a 4 oz can is around $9.00 enough for a pistol,not sure how much duracoat runs.but that is definitely a one of a kind,only problem might be is if ya gotta pull it on a BG and he thinks it's a toy...maybe that might not be such a problem for you but it might be a fatal mistake for him
