New member of the family - CW9

Well, I went *window shopping* today for a slightly more concealable sister for the old XD40. Based on the recommendations and input from many here at DC.com, I asked my favorite gunstore salesman if he would mind showing me their Kahr selection, specifically the PM9 or CW9.

They had only one available in the whole place, and I heard destiny calling. I felt I simply could not leave the store without it; just wouldn't be right.

Sweet little Tagua IWB holster makes a great accompaniment. $450 for the setup.

Looks great in the collection, but works even better when I slip the Kahr in my belt and the thing disappears!!

Now if only someone would give me a recommendation for some quality SD ammo...

Great carry gun. I use Speer GD 124 gr +p in my Glock 19.

    Good luck.

Nice, you won't regret getting it. I carry one IWB at 4:00 position during the late spring and summer under a T shirt or a Polo style pullover. Recommend a light t shirt under the cover garment. Keeps the leather holster from contact the skin, which irritates the mess outa me. Slight bulge and I gotta watch the bending over, but so far, undetected except by my daughter, who said that people would probably mistaken it for a cell phone. Carry a K9 during the fall and winter in a OWB, although I picked up a K40 a couple of weeks ago and probably carry that. I use 100 grain Power Ball ammo from Glaser.

Nice choice, all three of your weapons are great.

Now I'll look like I'm copying you when I pick my SP101 and have a nearly identical collection to you...

I just got a CW9 the other day. I must say, I'm impressed. It looks like a very simple design that is very well executed. The internals look very high quality. Even the MIM slide stop is a very well done MIM.

I shot some 105 gr cast SWC rounds I had loaded up for my CZ75 Compact. These shot low and didn't group all that well and leaded the bore. So, I cleaned the barrel up and loaded up some Rainier 115 gr RN clad bullets with various charges of W232. At 7 yards offhand, no groups were anything to write home about and they all shot low. Only the 4.4 and 4.5 grain loads would function. The lighter loads had lots of FTF, FTE and FTRB.

I then tried some 124 grain Lee RN cast bullets with a charge of 3.7gr of W231 that I had loaded up for an M&P. The little CW shot a .535" group and functioned flawlessly. I'm a happy camper

Thanks for the comments. In my hands yesterday, none of the Kel-Tec offerings or even the S&W M&P (great gun but not quite right for me) felt the same. Going for a "break-in" range session next week
