considering getting a Springfield champion LW 1911 GI model 4" barrel. Anyone have any specific info on this gun? I know a few of ya have similar atleast. Will need to install a Ambi safety too, as I am left handed. How hard is this to install? Thanks all.

Fitting a Ambi depends how paitent you are file one stroke and try fit etc etc ..
I have the 5 inch lightweight and i really like it gun is holding up very well compared to a 4" i had by another maker I dont think you cant beat a springfield

Lightweight Champions are pretty good. The Ambi safety is fairly easy, just be patient with it, and you'll do just fine
It's an excellent gun and SA has a great service reputation.
A good local 'smith wouldn't charge much to fit it if you don't have the experience.
