Millennium = 1st Generation
millennium Pro = 2nd generation
Millennium on one side and Pro on the other = 3rd Generation
3rd generation has Straight 8 dovetail sights.
1st & 2nd Generations have 3-dot sights.
Sounds like you have a 1st Generation model.
When I got home today,after I bought the pistol and turned all the paperwork into the Sheriff's office for approval ( I live in Saratoga County NY)I went to this site and saw that kimberland mentioned the 1st generation PT145 had problems,can anyone elaborate.
Check out the search function on this site for taurus issues, thefiringline.com also has a nice search feature and you'd find info.

I love the Taurus 24/ 7, except I do not like those straight 8 sites. Dang....
I have a PT 111pro 3rd gen, straight 8 sights take a little getting used to for now,til i get some 3 dots, even with straight 8s its dead on does what it has to, fires smooth and no problems 700 rds through, gonna put some more through tomorrow.
I have the Milenium 140 pro and love it. I've been waiting for it to do something stupid and dum, but the only thing it's done was eject the clip when firing, but sent it to taurus and it was resolved.......took a while though, like 6 weeks. But other than that, i love it. It's in between my hands now as i type.
I have a PT111 and it is a soild little gun.
