I have owned a Kahr pm9 and own a Kel Tec Pf9, Glock 26. I would love to see a top quality gun maker produce a single stack, light (17 oz or less). Any rumors out there?

Sig makes the P239 in 9mm, but it is still bigger than the Keltec PF9. I too, have the Glock 26 and although truly a great gun, it is a little too chunky for pocket carry.
I know you asked specifically about other manufacturers.. but Kahr makes the P, TP and CW series. All of them larger than the PM series but still just as thin. Personally I think Kahr is a top quality gun maker.
I keep hearing about Glock coming out with a single stack from people that go to the trade shows, but nothing yet... I'm sure they are working on something, who knows how much longer it will take for them to go to production.
I believe Glock makes a single stack .380 but it does not pass the import requirements so not legal to bring into this country. Why they don't just manufacture it here, I do not know.
I could be wrong, but I believe they make a single stack .380 that is smaller than the 28. Along the lines of a LCP. It is not available in this country so they don't even list it in their line up. But that is just conjecture on my part.Quote:

Yeah...curious as to why you haven't considered the PPS yet. It's actually made by Walther Germany (then imported by S&W), and it's a very thin single-stack 9mm...exactly what it sounds like you're looking for.
I might look at a PPS, but I would really love to see a Kahr size 9mm being produced by a Gun Maker that is unsurpassed in reliability. After owning one of the first PM9s I'm hard pressed to buy another, even though it's the perfect combination of size, weight and firepower IMO. Currently I am still lugging the G26 in my front pocket in the summer. I have a Kramer OWB holster I use in the winter and am really happy with that set up.Quote:

+ 1 on the Kahr p9.
It is light, slim, and accurate as all get out. It doesn't have to say Glock or cost $1000 to be a top quality gun.
Besides, most internal hammer DAO automatics are "copies" of Glocks mechinisms.
I had an early pm9 and had problems, after about 500 rounds the gun started to eat itself. I serviced that gun religiously. Do you feel there is a difference in the later production models or a difference between the pm9 and the P9?Quote:

I to have an early PM9, and it has been flawless. I know what you are talking about when you say it "ate itself" mine did the same thing... it just breaking in at 500. I have a few thousand in mine now and everything is just fine. They did make some changes to the later models to curb some of the misconceptions about the P series, so they are in fact a little "better" now.
I still think the steel Kahrs are the best and top notch quality, but the P series just carry so easy.
I'd be happy to have an all metal single stack 9mm about the size of the PF-9. I might like it better with the extra weight.
