Got a new toy today, all black XDM

My 1st post and I'm happy to report it's to report a new purchase, an all black XDM.

I traded in my .40xd sc, out the door cost was 250.53.

Did not shoot it as I had to run but the gun feels great, much more balanced then the xd sc, actually seems lighter even with 17 rounds in it (Guess this has to do with the balance). Sight seems to be highly improved, not sure on accuracy yet.

I decided to the trade the xd as I got a PT145 for fathers day and did not need two short guns as the PT145 will now be my carry. I really liked the xd but the pt felt slightly better in my hand and seems a bit more accurate..

The PT was my 4th gun but I'd now like to get a 9mm for my collection, I'm thinking Glock. What the good word on 9mm?

    Listing of my collection:
    PT145
    XDM
    FN Five-seveN
    Taurus Ultra-Lite titanium .38SPL

Congratulations . Very sweet indeed . For the 9mm I'd have to recommend the Glock19.

Thanks! G19 is what I am leaning towards.

As for the XDM, I plan to go to the range tomorrow to get a feel for it.

Since I have smaller hands I have changed the grip to the smallest one. On a side note SA does not included a changing tool so be prepared to have a small screwdriver or punch. This is one comfortable gun; I cannot wait to shoot it. Loading is a bit strange as the rounds are side to side (Similar to my FN) but the speed loader helps dramatically with loading.

Like I said I really liked my xdsc but this gun feels much more balanced in my hands.

Even my wife who has no interest in guns, said "that is one nice looking gun"!

As an XD owner myself, I am wondering what the differences or "improvements" that the XDM has. If it is significant, I may trade in my XD for an XDM myself.

The XD M's are sure a lot sleeker looking pistols than the 1st generation XDs. Trigger any different?

    +1.
When/if the XDm comes out in a .45compact style, I'll have to look into it.

I, too, was wondering about the trigger. I had read some reviews that said it was pretty much the same as the old XD.

Have you had a chance to get out to the range, yet?
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

Welcome! I have a XD9sc and love it. Haven't had a chance to handle the XDM yet, but I'm looking forward to it. It'll be interesting to see if SA spreads the XDM format across their whole line. In the mean time there is nothing wrong with the current XD's.

I'm not a big fan of the plastic guns but dang, that's pretty nice looking!

Nice set-up you have. Quite a bit came with that gun also..
--I'M PROUD TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO BEAR ARMS--

Glock27/ KaBar TDI/ MTAC Holster. I have more also, but this combination works well..
