Carry Caliber
Hello
I'm a new member and I do not want to start a cal war. I do however just want some opinions on what cal you carry and why? I carry a 45 ACP caliber and I have been getting the itch to switch to a smaller liter cal such as a 9mm. I have decided I do not like the 40 cal and am unsure about the 9mm as far as self defense, I would like to get some opinions on this subject. Remember now it's not a cal war. After many years of carrying 45"s they are just becoming heavier and the old hands are looking for something lighter.
Thanks Jessie

Welcome to the forum.
IMHO, with modern defense ammo, the difference between the .45 and 9mm isn't that large any more. I believe shot placement is far more important.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

Fist off, welcome to the forum, were happy you found us.
Second, the question you've asked has been asked more than a few times, so rather than have two or more similar threads with the same topic, I'm going to close this one and refer you the two threads below.
The first one is pretty much the same question you're asking, and will have much of the same answers that this thread would receive.

Secondly, this is a very expansive thread, of what a lot of us are carrying.

As for the 9mm as a self defense round, I'll be hitting the search tool and try and find current threads on the subject, as I'm afraid it's been discussed many times over and on occasion does turn into a caliber debate no matter what the intent of the original poster.
Again, welcome to the forum, hope we can help you find what you need.
