I need to stay out of the gun shop (photos)

Was passing by the local gun shop today and figured "What to heck", never know what they may have laying around with my name on it. Looked around for a bit and noticed that he not only had a PPS but an LCP in the case. Was talking with him briefly about how difficult both guns are to find when I noticed that the PPS was a 40 S&W. Well, it started screaming to go home with me and I didn't want it to feel neglected, so here 'tis. I might just have to make a little extra noise this weekend for the 4th.

Your name is: Warning Read safety manual?

I hope you gave your parents heck about that one.

Nice grab you made, don't see why you should stay out of gun shops when so much happiness can be bought inside.

Nice looking. I carry a Kahr P9 and think that this is one of those very narrow carry guns. What is the width of the PPS. Cost?

I would walk into a gun store, but I am on Rosie O'Donnell's list of people who own more than three guns and when he buys guns, he usually buys more than one at a time.

Nice purchase. Looking forward to a range report.

    From Walther's web page:
    Length: 6.3"
    Height: 4.4"
Overall Width/Width without slidestop lever and takedown buttons: 1.04"/.91"
    Barrel Length: 3.2"
    Sight Radius: 5.4"
    Weight (without Mag): 20.8 oz.
    Standard Magazine Weight: 1.9 oz.
Price wise, MSRP is $699.00; shop had it marked at $669.00; I paid $600.00 + sales tax. A quick check on GunBroker and GunsAmerica has most of them in the $640.00 to $700.00 price range and then add shipping & FFL transfer fees. I didn't get a great price, but I don't feel like I got burnt.

That is prob as good a deal as anyone would get on such a new weapon. By the way it looks good too.

So you left the LCP there when thousands of guys are looking for one?

Yep, it was crazy not to buy the LCP and not make a quick fifty bucks reselling it.

Probably couldn't have made much. He had it marked at 329.00. I bought the first one he got in and paid 299.00. I don't know who his supplier is, but he says he's getting 2 LCPs a day into the store. Said everyday, they're both gone by 5:00 p.m. He said he'd gotten in some extras on a shipment and put four LCPs on GunBroker and they all sold the first day. Somehow, he manages to get in some guns that other dealers have trouble getting. Bud's gun shop doesn't even list a PPS in 40 S&W and Davidson's shows them as allocated with 0 in stock. Go figure. In all seriousness, if anyone looking for an LCP were going to be passing through Pittsburg, KS (SE KS), you may want to give him a call and see if he has one in stock and could hold it for you. He does seem to have a pretty steady supply.

    Hoss,

I'd appreciate hearing a range report after you have time to shoot the PPS a bit. A guy I work with is in the market for one and really would like to hear from someone who has gotten some trigger time to see if he wants to drop the cash or not.

Thanks in advance and the gun looks great.

Very nice. I have a First Edition in 9mm.

Good job Hoss. I have a LCP. It is a good little gun but I think that .40 PPS is an awesome primary carry. It is perfect for augmenting my .40 Glock collection. The short handle pistols like the Glock 27 and PPS line carry the best for me over all of my 1911s and other Glocks too.
    Enjoy that baby!
