I really like the looks of this gun. I have a M&P 40c that has been perfect, but there seemed to be a lot of issues (i.e. mag drop, etc.) with the compacts when first released. This one is definitely on my "to buy" list, but I plan on holding off a while to observe.

8+1, 26 oz., 4 inch barrel-I need one of those pretty bad. Not bad enough to swap in my M&P 9, but bad. I don't think Smith will be able to make those fast enough.

My fifty year old .45 Colt LW Commander will hold 8+1, 28 ounces, four inch barrel, flat and familar, reliable and accurate, no plastic. I can make do with the two extra ounces of weight.

Really, I've been looking at the M&P9c quite a bit lately. A guy I know got a full size .45 and I really like it too.

Get both, you won't regret it.
I bought the M&P .45 first and love it. Then bought a used M&P 9c that had a gunsmith smooth out the trigger . . . 4.5-5# measured and it just rips one big hole in the center of the target, sits nice and comfy in a pancake holster and is a great CCW gun.

Everyone that fires my M&P 40 want's to trade their Glocks in on one!
It probably is the most accurate production semi that I have ever used........
I just have to get the compact now!

mmargotta, I actually dumped my MP for a Glock and now I just got another Glock. While the new MP45c looks appealing, it will take time to earn a Glock like reliabilty. Not to say it's not a great new firearm...but lets see. + I like my 10 rounders in the G30.
