Searching for information that may have already been discussed is fine but have you all ever tried using "XD" in the forum search?

The bi tone looks sweet - but the 9mm probably won't be out until 2009 (word is)

Looks good, feels good, and points even better!
Too bad it isn't made by CZ.

I'd also like to handle/fondle a Compact version in 9mm in the
    future.

Unless in 10mm. I'd be happy with the Compact NINE

With most forums searching for something three letters or under is difficult... unless you throw it a wild card.

You can't search for "XD", but you CAN search for "XD*"
You can't search for "XDM", but you CAN search for "XDM*"

That said, the XD has always intrigued me, this new one even more so.

Out of the two links you posted, the first one does not seem to have made his way to the range yet(over a month ago), and the second was posted in May. It seems hard to believe that out of a forum of this size, that only 2 people have bought the XDM, and that only one of those have been to shoot it.

I have been wondering the same thing the OP has, and I do not recall a range report (or any mention of shooting an XDM) other than the second link you posted.

And I am still wondering about how the trigger is compared to the old XD. The XDM got a lot of talk when it first came out, and since then it has kind of dropped off the radar.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

Got my hands on one and the grip is horrendous, feels terrible and the natural point of the original XD is lost, IMO they messed up a perfectly good gun with a poor grip. If you could get the new extras (match barrel, new sights) on the old grip I would be hot on it.

I handled one and I love the new grip.
Love the look of the new slide and the new sights.
Love the way the new gun points (points as good as the original) and I love the fact that the magazine holds 16 rounds of 40 cal ammo!

I am saving all my pennies for mine right now!
