Newbie Question
I understand this my get a chuckle out of some but i would rather be safe than sorry.
I picked up my S&W M&P 360 revolver today and totally love it. My question is will it shoot regular .38 loads?
The website says its rated .357/.38+p.
Again i would rather be safe than sorry.
Thanks again in advance.

It will shoot .38 Special ammo.

Shooting regular .38 is fine!

I've been looking at it for awhile now and finally decided to get it. I paid $719.00 out the door. Does that sound about right. Anyway, i have a 642 as well and love the thing so i knew i couldn't go wrong.

While you can shoot .38s in it, you may want to shoot them AFTER shooting .357s (assuming your practice session involves both types of ammo). Because the .38 case is a bit shorter, firing them in a .357 can deposit residue in the chamber, and I've found (with my SP-101 and a few other .357s) that after shooting a number of .38s, the longer .357 rounds don't want to slide into the chambers as easily.
It's not a big deal, and it'll be fine after cleaning -- ready to go again. Just a warning that if you "warm up" with a box of .38s, you may have trouble loading the .357s. If it happens, don't force them in as this can increase the chamber pressure on firing (or so I've read). Just continue with .38s or clean the chambers before moving on to the heavy stuff.
If you plan to carry .357s, it's probably best to start "cold" with your carry load anyway (since a defensive shooting won't give you any "warm up" shots), then move to .38s for additional practice.

Do not shoot .38 S&W rounds in it. Shoot any .38 spl or .357 magnum loads.

Good catch, I was going to say the same thing.

This is a very good place to ask such questions. Even on the off-chance you get flack on a question, it'll all be in good fun and not meant to be malicious. Good folks here.
Far better to ask and learn, rather than try something with uncertain knowledge and risk hurting yourself or someone else.

thank you all to have posted! I really appreciate the feedback. I figured that it would shoot regular .38spl ammo but just wanted to make sure!
Again thank you all!
