This is a discussion on Q for those who CC a .45 caliber within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I use a Bersa Thunder 45 for car/carry. Why? It works for me. Regards, Richard :D...
Let's see if I can remember them all:
Springfield Compact
Springfield Ultra Compact
Springfield Champion
Springfield Micro Compact
Para Ordnance Carry 12 LDA
SIG P220ST
SIG P245
My primary carry is now my Wilson Compact CQB. This gun has been the most comfortable of all the .45acp guns I have ever carried.
My BUG and primary office/church carry is my Taurus PT-145 Millennium Pro.
The only thing needed for evil to exist is for good men to stand by and do nothing!!!
I like my SW99 better than my 1911 because it's lighter.
Kimber Custom II TLE in Sparks vm2 ,or officers ACP in Sparks vm2
Primary is a Kimber Classic Stainless in a MS SS-II. Mods are a short guide rod, closed spring plug, and is otherwise stock.
Secondary is a Kimber Compact Stainless in a MS SS-II. Short guide rod, night sights.
Have also carried a Para Companion (with a short guide rod and rubber Kimber grips) in a MS SS-II, and a modified SA mil-spec in a MS SS-II.
The SA is my most modified pistol. It has a long plastic Colt trigger from my 'smith's parts bin, a flat MSH from Les Baer, a Chip McCormick safety, and, like all of my 1911s, it wears Kimber rubber grips. Thankfully it had the right guide rod in it when it left the factory and the previous owner(s) didnt put the wrong one in. Many more mods to come.

SW99 I have a hi cap 1911 springer but it's too heavy for me to carry all day!
Ruger P97 in a Highnoon Slide Guard. Accurate, concealable, light, relatively compact, great ergonomics and dependable, dependable and dependable.
HC - indeed, the P97 (tho IMO fugly) - is a robust and dependable platform, at also a very modest price for what you get.
I no longer carry either of my P series but (guess what) I used to carry my P95 in early days of carry () and would rate that - or the 97 - as totally reliable.
I still put rounds thru them both from time to time - and they still fill a niche in my collection.

I carry 100% of the time. 90% 1911, but I switch off from Government model to Commander to Officer's. Depends on what I'm doing, how I'm dressed, etc.
