S&W 1911PD or Kimber Pro Covert II?

Thinking of getting one of these two soon. I'm leaning towards the S&W but does anybody have any comments on these two or some other commander size 1911? It would be for concealed carry. Thanks!

I have never had the Kimber but I have a S&W PD and its a great 45 auto. Its light and very accurate since I am hooked on the Glock 30sf I gave the S&W to my son who is a LEO and he carrys it as his off duty gun and loves it.

I'd pick the Kimber. I have two and they're great handguns.

The SW 1911PD is a fantastic gun, you will not be disappointed. Smith also comes with a LIFETIME warranty as opposed to a limited one year warranty on the kimber.

I would go with the Smith in a heartbeat.

I have had several kimbers and they have all been 100% out of the box. That being said I really like the smith. Life time warrenty and the CS is top notch. Smith ahs really done a number on their autos lately. I have an M&P9c thet is as close to perfect, as a plastic pistol can get.

    I presently have two Kimbers...great weapons...never a problem...smooth runnin' machines.

    Stay armed...try a Kimber Ultra...stay safe!

I would go with the Smith.

Flip a coin .... both great weapons. I have a Kimber but it would still be a hard choice. It's a win-win

Personally between the two, I'd go with the S&W. I've never really warmed up to Kimbers but that's my subjective preference showing. As far as others to consider, you might want to look at an SA Loaded Champion or a Colt of some flavor: 1991-A1, XSE Combat Commander (steel frame) or the LW Commander in alloy. I've had good luck with both brands but the Colts generally fit my hands better out of the box.

Once you've handled the appropriate models from all four makers, one or two should stand out as your clear favorite(s) ... or have you already done that?
When are you looking to buy? Can we expect pics anytime soon?

I liked my S&W 1911PD so much, I went out and bought a 1911SC to go with it!

SA Loaded Champion is very nice, but whatever one you choose will be the right choice.
