    Glock grip question

I recently picked up a G23...for a SONG...so I am going to pass my G19 to my wife. It is the 3rd generation with the finger grooves, and with her petite hands her fingers do not "place" well. Anyone here had any luck with removing the finger grooves?

I don't have that issue, but I have seen some pictures of people using a Dremel to remove the groves... of course no mistakes can be made when doing something like this.

You could always send it some like this. David will do a grip reduction and get rid of those finger grooves.

It's really not a big deal to do it yourself, no need to pay someone $50 or so not counting transer fees.
A Dremel-tool will work but if you want to make sure you don't run the risk of taking off too much material, just use some coarse sandpaper and a small sanding block.

Just start on the actual ridges (or whatever you want to call them) and knock them down until they're even with the checkered portion. Then clean it up with some finer grit sandpaper and you're done. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even stipple them yourself by using an $8 radio-shack soldering iron.

Here's my 19 and 17, I left the finger groove ridges. They fit my hand pretty well though I did widen them a little (taking off the checkering in between in the process) and I also opened up the area under the trigger guard. Feels great in the hand, very secure...and it only cost me $8 and a few hours of my time.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

The finger groves is one of the major reasons I haven't bought a Glock 17. I've always like the looks, but after shooting my S&W Sigma the finger grooves feel awkward.
