Former LEO that carries only to protect self and loved one.
If confronted and I have the option, i'll walk or run away, but will
meet force with force if I am in a corner.
Seen too many execution style killings (mostly drug related) in my time
to go out that way.
I'm sure that I'm not alone with this view on CCW.
Feeble is not my style.
My new model 637 snubby is much lighter and has a superior trigger pull over the ill fated DAO SP101.
I'd go .380 but feel that it is a weak sister, when compared to a 38+P
or 9mm +P that I prefer.
.380 ammo cost is also a factor.

Never carried a snubby as my main EDC, but the S&W 637 does occasionally go for a ride in my pocket...the perfect pocket rocket.

I used to EDC a S&W 642 IWB. I have since decided that I can carry a larger gun IWB just as well. I also think that a snubby is too big for me to pocket carry. But that's just my opinion. They are very light and comfortable to carry but I honestly had a hard time shooting it well. So, lately the Glock 19 gets the nod.

Snub 38 fills the bill
After a brief experiment with a .380 semi-auto, I settled on a S&W 642 for carry. It meets a number of my requirements:
1. It is reliable
2. It is small and light
3. The .38 +P can do the job.
My experience with the .380 taught me that as semi-auto pistols get smaller, reliability becomes a major issue.

A Taurus 650CIA. I have several CC weapons, but I seem to go snubbie more often than any of the others.

In the summer I mainly carry my Rossi 462. In the winter my 1911.
