    How many EDC A snubby?

I was wondering how many here EDC a snubby revolver as their main weapon? I notice snub nose revolvers are very popular with out Florida members as well as others in other hot/humid places. So how many here simply prefer a snub nose revolver for ease of carry and concealment? I feel these guns to be an excellent balance of conceal ability reliability and hitting power. thanks for any feedback.

I EDC a Ruger SP101 2.25 inch barrell.. now to some this is a little heavy compared to the Smith and Wessons and Taurus airweights and ultraweights.. but I use a Crossbreed Supertuck.. and am comfortable all day long.. I never feel under or outgunned

I've got a DW model 15 (the one that has interchangeable barrels) and I have a 2" barrel for it. I have an ankle holster for when I have the 2" installed, and sometimes use that.

Currently my DW has a 6" barrel installed, and is serving as my bed-stand gun. But I plan on changing that once I move into a new house; so the DW will probably be carried again (occasionally) once that happens.

I don't have anything AGAINST a snubbie for EDC, it's just that I have another gun (officer's 1911) that I think is better (For ME in my current situation). Primarily because I feel that the thickness of a gun has more to do with the conceal-ability then the length of the barrel. And wheel guns will always, by their very nature, be thicker than almost every Auto (and especially a 1911). In fact, I think that my full sized (5" barrel) 1911 is more comfortable to carry concealed than my 2" snub-nosed 357.

But that's just me... I could be wrong.

ETA: After reading over my post again, I noticed it may be unclear. --- I own Two 1911's; one is my 3.5inch Officer's model 1911 and is my EDC, and the Other is a 5 inch "standard Government" model.

My only handgun is a 642, and I carry it every day.

I just reread the North Miami Incident where seven of eight FBI agents were shot by two BG's. Two agents were killed. As many folks already know, that was when the agency switched from wheel guns to semi auto's. I certainly can see a snubbie as a BUG but the chill that went down me on this article says, "Gimmie a double mag semi auto!"

I all ways carry snubs. I rotate them, I have several. Today I have a 605 Taurus and a Bobbed S&W Mdl. 37. They are backed up by a Glock 26.

I carry my one and only gun - a S&W 340 M&P with snub nose barrel in .357 magnum. Probably not the best choice for some eventualities - but everything in concealed carry is a compromise of sorts.

My gun of choice is small, light, very safe, comfortable to carry, powerful, and extremely reliable.

It is equipped with Crimson Trace 405 laser grips and (it being a revolver) I can easily and frequently practice dry fire at home whenever I want. I couldn't do that with a non-lasered auto.

Literally thousands of draws, sightings and dry fires are better than a trip a month to the range with my old automatic IMO.

In the winter I carry a full sized 1911 but in the spring and summer months when I am not wearing as much clothes I carry a Smith 638 bodygaurd which I love. With +P loads, I am more than confident this would dispatch any problem that might arise.

I have many choices to pick from, usually its my 340 S&W PD in 38spl. 2"bbl. with spare rounds on a speed strip. I only carry the 45 auto when I go to the big city, NY,Miami, etc.
Also remember the FBI shootings, the FBI was going after them! The FBI was unprepared for the assult they started, they had the option to bring more firepower but didn't choose to do so, They didn't even notify the local PD of the planned attack. There were many mistakes made (not to fault them) they expected to say FBI and have a big surrender, Things learned the heard way but learned indeed, after that everytime the feds came into my county they notified us first--just in case..

SP101 - if it's not on me, it's in the truck close by. Usually IWB tuckable, or a paddle if a lot of on-and-off.

Up until about 2 weeks ago my EDC was a S&W 38 snubbie. Now I carry my XD in a dedicated CCW briefcase during the week, but the snubbie is still my go-to gun on the weekends or whenever I don't have my briefcase with me.

    Thumbs up

My preferred EDC (over my G27)...

    It just carries so easily!

Same here, or at least almost every day, I alternate with my Kimber Ultra Carry, depending upon my mode of dress that day, and where I am going.
