    Which one for my wife?

Kel-tec .380 or Ruger Lcp .380. I'd appreciate any feedback on either. I have heard the Kel-tec is a little finicky on the brand of ammo.

They are both about the same size for her to carry. Thanks!

What does SHE like to shoot and have you let her try other styles of handguns?

I just bought my wife a Ruger LCP and a SmartCarry. I would say that if those are your only two options, then go with the Ruger! Has she held/shot an LCP yet?

the Kel-Tec v LCP is a coin flip right now IMHO.

Spouse chose a SW 44 Mag Mountain Gun for bedside home defense and shoots it extremely well with 44 spls. SW J frame for carry.

    A couple things:

    1. How does your wife like the purses that you picked out for her?
    2. How about the bra's, panties and shoes?

She should decide, unless you are actually looking for a gun for yourself.

    Hmmmm. I have owned both:

Kel-Tec P3AT: was never right no matter how much cleaning, lubing, fluffing and buffing (and cursing). Jam-o-matic. Flimsy and looked poorly made.

Ruger LCP: Just put 150 rounds through it without a hiccup. Just got my Bersa finger rests today and will try the gun with them soon. Fit & finish of LCP was way ahead of P3AT.

Which one do you think I still have?

I'm not picking it for her. She's shot both and likes them both. I'm looking for any problems with either that might happen down the road.
Btw, she's been carrying a S&W 637 snubby, but wants a semi for her second carry or BUG.

Please read the post above! Btw, I have helped her pick out panties a few times :)

Now, this is the response I was looking for. Thanks!

Given those two choices, I would try to steer her to the LCP. I have both and while I've had no trouble to date with my P3-AT, the peening problem alone would be enough to make me pick the LCP though all I've heard is that Kel-Tec is VERY good about taking care of a problem.

Well, I did the same thing. I typed out a lengthy reply about why an LCP is not a good gun for a beginner, and after I hit submit, I saw your post.

You did not mention her experience level, that she already carried a gun, or that she had shot both of them.

People are just trying to give you the best advice they can with limited information.

As far as the LCP, the only problem I have had with mine(formerly my wifes), is light primer strikes due to not allowing the very long trigger to completely reset. I also find it easier to shoot one handed than two.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

I would have her keep the snubby, and have the LCP for a BUG. I can't see how there is a huge difference between shooting the two, they are almost identical!!

    Kel Tec -- LCP

    I own both now.

KT - over 1100 rounds with NO problems, smoothly shoots at least 2 FMJ and 6 HP Ammo Mfgrs. Grip is better in my hand. Owned over 2 yrs.

Ruger LCP - 200 rounds with NO problems, smoothly shoots Fed Am Eagle FMJ and Hydra Shok and Speer HP. Looks nicer. Owned about 2 months.

Both were buffed. Both companies have experienced some QA-rerliability problems with these handguns.

I like the Ruger name but prefer the KT feel right now.
