I have to say I agree with cdwolf, but I'll pay for shipping if you want to recoup your losses.

Can anyone tell me about how old this gun is? i did some research, i believe it was one of kimbers first models but i am not sure.... I just got done putting it back together, sure is harder than my XD to strip down, but I do like it alot... I wish i could afford a newer one, but at least i can get use to this one.
It seems like it is hard to get a magazine loaded.... it goes in half way and then needs some force. Is this normal?

I'd say you got a good deal, but I'm not really up on the history of Kimbers.
Are all of the mags hard for you to load, or just one of them?

When your inserting the mag and you get to that half way point, there will be slight resistance from the magazine catch being pushed out of the way.
You got one hell of a deal, you could sell that tomorrow for twice what you paid for it.

DUDE! That's one of their first before they moved to new york!
OK $400. that's quite a profit in one day!
Clean it up, get them stupid grips off of it and check around to see how much clack's are running. I'm serious about the $400.00 just PM me!
ETA: I wish I had stupid shooting buddies!!!

You have that much in the magazines. Jealousy is not my style, but that never happens to me. Congrats. I dont think the grips look that bad. I wouldnt rush out and change them unless they were too fat for my hands...

Sorry cdwolf, I am holding on to this bad boy, The guy who I got it from wanted 350 from the gun shop and they turned it down (If it was anything special I thought they would of snatched it up) My grandpa got his number because he knew i wanted a 1911. I offered 250 but he was firm at 300.... thanks for nice remarks.
Anyone suggest were I can get some nicer grips to improve the look? I am also now in the market for a holster, and recommendations that won't take longer than a month?
