    Bernardelli Model 60

So a couple weeks ago I got an absolute deal of the year on a Bernardelli Model 60! It was marked $199.99 and they went down to $169.99; I couldn't pass it up!

    And a field stripped view

I'm not trying to beat a dead horse by opening up the "can you carry a .22" discussion; I figure as a back up or in a pinch it can make a great pocket gun.

My question is this, when carrying with one in the chamber, would you carry it in half cock; with the thumb safety engaged, or both? I never thought about it because my P95 doesn't have a safety or half cock and the XD doesn't have an 'optional' safety.

Manual safeties are for single action auto loaders.
The preceding post may contain sarcasm; it's just better that way. However, it is still intended with construction and with the Love of my L-rd Y'shua.

So does that mean Half Cock is the way to go?

Nice gun. The design seems very similar to the Sig 232.

If nothing else it would be a good practice gun at the range.

Most .22lr ammo is still relatively inexpensive to shoot.

If it does not have any safety feature to keep it from firing in case it was accidentally dropped, I would leave the chamber empty and rack the slide back to chamber a round and carry it that way. (Hammer down on an empty chamber.)

If it does have one, I would carry it with the hammer down and a round chambered without the safety engaged, thumb cocking it to shoot.
    God bless our troops!
