Sweet! I think you chose wisely. It's far easier to beg forgiveness than to seek permission! Now - practice, practice and practice some more! The 1911 is a different animal than most any other pistol. Learn it's "ins & outs" and you'll have a lifelong obsession with 1911's. Be careful, 1911's are known to breed in the dark so you'll likely have another one soon!

Oh yeah! You won't miss your Sigma or whatever it was. Everyone should get a 1911 under their belt no matter what.

Your wife should be proud of you but if she is like mine she won't understand. My wife wants a new kitchen stove and I don't know why. The rest of the kitchen looks like h-e double tooth picks and she doesn't cook anyway. I tell her there is no future in stoves. I know that doesn't make any sense but it somehow soothes my conscious. You did the right thing. Now watch out for the wife-ack.

Congrats, a very nice pistol. My Sigma was my first carry gun. I traded even up with a guy for a Glock 23. Never looked back. Enjoy

Jim Spiedel (The Beltman)made me a IWB for a 5inch 1911. Very comfortable and conceals the pistol very well and reasonably priced, $80 as I recall.

Mitch Rosen express line holsters are great, cheap and a short wait.

I got a clip on one and stick it in to my pants in front of my front pocket. Wears real easy and it's great for driving and all around carrying.
