I've had S&W and Taurus snubbies at various times. I currently have two Taurus, .357 and a .38Spc. Quality on both brands was very good. The only reason I carry Taurus now is because of the S&W prices.

since the OP did say something about S/A revolver, then I must pitch in the SW 637. I've been putting off purchasing one to use for a field gun for years, and finally did last month. No more blued antique S&W's, Rusty Rossi's or the like for me. I love my 637, but it's sister, the 642 would be o.k for a DA only. I've sweated on the thing every day for a couple of weeks, and today got totally drenched in a rain storm (in the field). Came in, took the grips off, sprayed a bit of CLP into the cracks and crevices, and not a worry in the world about it's survival. There's just something comforting about high quality weapons.
