I have a G23 and a G27 - I shoot the small guy about as well as I do the G23. I carry the G27 alot and really like it. Go for the 26!

Major factor IMO is having adequate cant - that brings grip up and forward and certainly for me does not let it stick out to rear enough to matter. Only time the grip impinges much on anything is sitting in my office chair - nice wear marks on back!!

I have also carried my SW99 in a simple Don Hume, with only slight cant and that gun, which must be similar size to a 26 - just disappears!! Maybe part of this is simply the rather major change of one gun compared to another.
I agree concerning the holster "cant". I get to see many people in our shooting classes who have similar problems and many times end up with either wrong holster positioning on the body or cant.

I have thought about it (& have Comp-Tac SetCant holsters for G21 and G27 which have configuration ranging from forward through vertical and FBI cant to crossdraw/SOB) but haven't tried it. Besides the "you'll break your spine" school of thought, it seems like it wouldn't work unless I never sat in a seat with a back rest.

There is an article in the current Concealed Carry Magazine wherein Tony Walker espouses SOB---it's his preferred method.

I was looking online at Galco holsters, their leather SOB looks decent.
