I can't open the link at work. Mind telling the story? I own a Taurus PT1911 and have had no problems at all in over 1,000 rounds (and counting). I hope I don't encounter any issues as I hear the customer service is lousy.

Is it just my eyes messing with me, or does the slide appear to be failing to lock back after the last round has been fired?

Or maybe he's changing mags right before he runs out of ammo.

I thought that at first also, but I think he was counting rounds fired and started with one in the chamber and an eight round mag. I could be wrong though.

Thanks! I'll take that into advisement. I doubt I could reload the mags that fast!

This gun is my next to buy. The price is right, and I haven't heard anything bad about them.

I've heard some tell of the thumb safety coming apart. This may be on initial offerings of the pistols and may have been cured by Taurus now. Do a search, what I've heard was from members here who have the PT1911.

I think that the few malfunctions that occured were due to the reloads being fired since the pistol functioned fine when a new loaded mag was inserted. Well I guess that piece is well broken in. 1911s ya gotta love em

I bought a PT1911SS this spring. I had a problem with the thumb safety. It wasn't properly pressed in to place at the factory. Reinserting it back to its proper position took care of the problem and 1000 rounds later, it's still working like a champ. I've heard that the latest versions of the pistol don't have this problem.

I posted earlier I had zero problems with my PT1911. I "made an inartful statement." I have had issues - my Taurus 1911 hates mil-spec mags. All other mags - Wilson, Chip Mc., Novak have had ZERO issues.

I had that problem with just 100 rounds through mine, Taurus replaced the saftey with a new type and I have no other issues with it.

PS. It did take 2 1/2 months after sending it back before it was returned repaired.
