    S&W model 40 lemon squeezer?

I was looking at a nickeled one of these today and really liked it a lot, does anyone here have one of these "lemon squeezer"revolvers? I think its a very nice classic snub nose and would make a nice pocket gun. When were the originals made? I heard the new ones don't have any MIM parts and were a limited production run is this true? I see they don't have the lock which is nice. Last thing is can I use a Tyler grip adapter with these guns? thanks.

The original Model 40 was catalogued from 1952 - 1974.

The new Model 40s in the Classic Series are a regular production item. Yes, they use MIM parts, but no internal lock.

Yes, you can use a Tyler T-Grip.

They are a bit on the heavy side for a true pocket revolver.

Yep, heavy, but so beautiful. I desire one!! I'm proud of Smith for resurrecting some of these old classics, and this is one I've always had a hankerin' for. I think they're fabulous.

No, they aren't scandinavium or nucleoradiatorum or whatever superlight stuff they're using these days. But they sure are pretty, and I'd pack one in a hearbeat. The T-grip would just about be a must-have. I've always found the J-frames sort of hammer my middle finger without one.

Rats! Now I have to add this to my guns-I-want-to-buy list. (Especially the nickel one. I really want a shiny gun with wood grips!)

Since the OP specified the nickeled model, here ya go, for your viewing (and drooling) pleasure:
