    Summer carry...G36 or Kahr P9?

I usually like to carry a slim gun during the summer months. Been primarily carrying a Glock 36 (6+1 45cal), but have been considering picking up a Kahr P9 (7+1 9mm). If you had the choice, which would you prefer?

BTW, This is not intended to start a caliber war .

I voted for the Glock. It may just be me but I have not been real impressed with Kahr. Now my statement is not meant to offend those that carry Kahrs it is they just are not for me.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but in the interest of discussing concealable 9mm & .45's, I would mention the new Kel-Tec PF9. Supposedly the smallest 9mm in current production. At a littile more than 14oz w/mag, a 7/8" thick slide, 3/4" frame/grip and 3"bbl, this is surely as concealable as it gets. You can see one right here:

I voted for the Glock because I just bought G36.....but I also have a Kahr PM9. The Kahr is for when I need a pocket gun.

I would go with the Kahr. Glocks have never fitted my hand right and the Kahr I carry the K9 disappears under alomost anything I wear during the summer.

I really believe your best bet of the two is the Glock 36. They are just an awesome handgun; reliable, dependable and tuff. It also helps that it is so slim and carries so well.

Glock guys like Glocks, Kahr guys like Kahrs......

I'm a Kahr guy, but you won't go wrong with either one.

If you'd have mentioned K9 instead of P9, I might have went with Kahr.

I carry a Glock-36 all day, every day. It is light, accurate, powerful, concealable and reliable. Can't ask for much more. I also feel more secure with a .45 than I do with a 9mm.

P9 for me. For me to carry in comfort requires a light slim gun. I have found that my P9 really fits the bill.

I have loved Glocks... they are a little boring in the fact that they just keep shooting and always at what they are aiming at... I just love that about them.

I'm a glock guy (G32EDC), but I voted Kahr. I do carry a P9 occasionally and it's a little slimmer, lighter, and I really prefer the frontstrap checkering on the kahr.

    Glock 36: .45 6+1

    20.1 oz.
    6.7" L
    1.13" W
    4.76" H

    Kahr P9: 9mm 7+1

    16.9 oz.
    5.8" L
    .9" W
    4.5" H

Size matters! I carry a P9 myself, and have zero complaints about mine.

One thing that about Kahr is that they make pistols that are extremely slim and concealable, but I don't understand why they don't have flush mag floorplates on the P9 mags. On paper, the G36 height is more, but in reality it's the same as P9 when you factor in the mag.
